COUNTRY CLUB HILLS (STNG) ? Firefighters responded to a four-alarm fire that destroyed six town houses Monday morning in south suburban County Club Hills and the American Red Cross is now helping displaced families.
Total damage is estimated at $750,0000, Country Club Hills village spokeswoman Wanda Comein said.
The town houses destroyed were in the Provincetown multi-unit subdivision, Comein said, and the residences are a "total loss." The six units were all connected, so the fire spread unit-to-unit, she said. No cause of fire has been established.
The burned units were at 2344 Windsor Lane, according to City Manager Henrietta Turner. The fire started about 11:30 a.m.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to offer services to six affected families, Comein said. The only reported injury was a person who hurt their leg, Comein said.
