The annual visit to St. Coletta's is December 15th at 17:30.  All Local 2720 members are invited to attend. Because of all of your individual generosity, the residents will have plenty of gifts to open. Once again our local has made the holidays a little bit brighter for those less fortunate then us.

Just a friendly reminder to get out and vote down the proposed Constitutional Convention. Urge your family, friends and neighbors to vote NO to this wasteful use of tax dollars.

On Thursday October 30th, the Executive Board met with the Mayor, City Manager, the Chief and the Police and Fire Commissioners. The main topic was the grievance over the disputed promotional list. We also discussed changing the testing company. The meeting was positive and cordial. We have set another meeting date for November 11th. Hopefully we can resolve our issue prior to going to arbitration. Some of the other items covered was our proposal to add the rank of captain when the other firehouse goes operational and the upcoming contract. By standing together on the last promotional exam we have shown our solidarity to the entire city. The Executive Board is proud of each and every one of our members.

Congratulations to Brother Brent Hullinger on his election to fill the unexpired term of Vice-President Glenn McAuliff. All the members of Local 2720 truly appreciate Glenn for his five years of dedicated and spirited service as our Vice-President. Brent has some big shoes to fill and we wish him the best.

Orland Local 2754 Firefighter Chris Ward has been battling very hard against an extremely serious health issue. Tinley Park High School Principal Dr. Theresa Zielinski, who also happens to be the wife of our good friend Orland Firefighter Eric Zielinski has organized a fundraiser to help out Brother Ward and his family. There will be a friendly volleyball game pitting the faculty of Tinley Park High School against the Sandburg faculty. The event will take place Tuesday June 3rd at Carl Sandburg High School which is located 13300 S. La Grange, 6:30 pm. There will be a post game gathering at Coach's Corner at 8116 W. 143rd in Orland Park. There are some great raffle items and anytime you put teachers and firefighters together there are bound to be some laughs. So lets get out and help out a Brother and his family.
